Company Description: M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. (M/A-COM Tech) is a leading supplier of semiconductors, active and passive components, and sub-assemblies for use in radio frequency (RF), microwave and millimeter wave applications. We have years of expertise in solving complex circuit design, packaging and manufacturing challenges. Over this time, M/A-COM Tech has earned its stellar reputation by providing solutions to a broad range of complex RF and microwave challenges faced by top OEMs and systems integrators.
M/A-COM Tech was incorporated in September 2008, in connection with a transition of ownership from Tyco Electronics to Cobham. However, our heritage of RF industry leadership dates back to the founding of Microwave Associates in 1950. While ownership of the brand and related product lines has changed hands a number of times over this long and rich history, the unique combination of technical expertise, reliability and customer service that characterizes M/A-COM Tech today has remained constant.
Markets: M/A-COM Tech is the partner of choice in a variety of markets—including cellular base stations and infrastructure, military communications, avionics, radar, medical equipment, point-to-point and broadband radios, and broadcast equipment.
Design and Manufacturing Facilities: M/A-COM Tech has design, Si and GaAs fabrication, manufacturing, assembly and test, and operational facilities in a number of geographies. We operate ISO-9001 facilities in Lowell, Massachusetts; Torrance, California; Edison, New Jersey; Cork, Ireland and Shenzhen, China.
Global Sales Team: M/A-COM Tech sells and distributes products globally via a sales channel comprised of a direct field sales force, authorized sales representatives and leading industry distributors. The sales team is trained across products to give our customers insights into our entire portfolio. Our channel strategy is to present a single point of contact to customers for RF, microwave and millimeter wave product design, production and distribution.

Ownership: In March 2009, M/A-COM Tech was acquired by a holding company led by John Ocampo. Mr. Ocampo is a successful entrepreneur and an RF components industry veteran, having co-founded Sirenza Microdevices (Nasdaq: SMDI), a diversified supplier of RF semiconductors and components, which he led through a successful IPO and eventual sale to RF Micro Devices (Nasdaq: RFMD) in 2007. Mr. Ocampo’s more than 30 years of experience in the RF industry also include management and engineering roles at Magnum Microwave and Avantek prior to Sirenza.
Affiliates: Mr. Ocampo also separately controls GaAs Labs LLC, a private investment vehicle with a team of industry experts focused on the communications semiconductor and RF component industry, and its portfolio company Mimix Broadband, a supplier of high performance GaAs semiconductors for microwave and millimeter-wave wireless communications applications. M/A-COM Tech and GaAs Labs are controlled by Mr. Ocampo, and M/A-COM Tech may enter into commercial arrangements with GaAs Labs or its portfolio companies from time to time where mutually advantageous.
